A basketball performance art project for Nike. All of the footage is from a live event for the release of the Nike Hyper Elite Platinum uniforms in New York City. From the moment the kid walks onto the basketball court what you see in this video is exactly what the live audience saw.

ART211 Blog #15

Last class, we walked over to the art studio and checked out the art show pieces. I found these new pieces much more interesting than the ones that had been there earlier. They seem to be more creative and have a more modern feel to them. These 2 pieces happen to be my 2 favorite from the show.

ART211 Blog #14

Today Aaron Hernandez was convicted and sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Odin Lloyd. To tell you the truth, I was truly shocked when i heard the verdict. I do believe he was the individual who pulled the trigger killing that man, but didn't believe the prosecutors had enough evidence to convict. I believe the jury/judge/court-system made a clear cut example of there non nonsense policy for famous and powerful athletes/celebrities and crime. The murder happened in a north attleboro trash park located only about 50 minutes away.

What he did was 100% a selfish move seeing he was one of the patriots best players and one of the best tight ends in the entire league. Its crazy like someone like that had virtually everything life had to offer and literally just flushed it down the toilet. The thing that surprises me but doesn't surprise me at all is the fact that you se him handcuffed in jail with the same smile and smirk he had when he was catching touchdowns on the field. He was blatantly making a statement to everyone saying he didn't give one shit, thinking he was going to get off of it. Well, the plan backfired directly in his face so.

ART211 Blog #13

Just a few days, Tsarnaev the boston bomber, was convicted for the unbelievable acts him and his brother did at the boston marathon in 2013. This particular subject hit home much deeper than most subjects we have discussed or even on the news. I am from a town only 20 minutes outside of Boston and have been to Boyalston st numerous times and know exactly where the bombing took place. To make matters worse, both my mother and aunt were in boston at the time of the bombing, my aunt only a few blocks down the street.  This marks the 2nd year anniversary of those un thinkable acts, even though it feels like it was just yesterday. You would not believe how something so fucked up (excuse my french) could bring a close knit city even closer. You see things like this in the middle east all the time but once something like this happens just a few miles from your home, it kind of puts life more into perspective.

Tomorrows class is because we have a research day. I have been thinking and brainstorming about creative and interesting ideas for my final performance art project. I remember you telling me I should do something with these unfortunelty homeless men, either dance with them or something that incorporates me into the video. The only problem with doing any of these ideas is just the sole interaction with these people. Granted the 2 men i had in my first video were friendly and understanding, not everyone is like that. It also takes a toll on me asking these people to dance and be funny for cash, knowing they will get something out of me. I don't mind at all giving money to these men, but I'm not really too sure they spend it on the essentials to live.

ART211 Blog #10 Flip-Book/Stop-Motion

Well here it is. My final product of Pac-Man in my flip-book & Stop Motion. I used my iPhone to take all 400 pictures and used iMovie to fuse them all together, including the music. The Autograph by J. Cole. This is one of my favorite songs by him, and there was no particular reason this exact song was included.
