ART211 Blog #1

My name is Jake Levenson, a sophomore from Natick, Massachusetts.

My first thoughts on the class are interesting. I believe this course will be a little more time consuming and work intensive than i expected, but i am up for the challenge. I think it will enlighten me on not only the history of art and technology but how it has impacted our society and everyday life.
Learning about the colosseum in rome was fascinating. My family happens to be a huge history junkie and have always wanted to visit Rome and Egypt but the current politics and violence has always discouraged us visiting there.

My family has also always wanted to visit Rome together. Both my parents and sister have all been to Rome and these famous historical locations such as The Church of St. Ignatius and Cornaro Chapel that I have read about in these articles.

The magnificent fireworks in Dubai, reminded me of my trip to Las Vegas in 2008. I could see multiple  similairties within the city and its building structures.

I also listened to Cecilia Bartoli's Sacrificism. I found the piece much more interesting and enjoyable than i thought i would considering I am not a huge Opera fan.
